The official opening of the new Long-Term Care and Treatment Facility in Bolesławiec took place on Friday, October 9. The facility is located in Building F of St. Luke’s Hospital at 4 Jeleniogórska Street. Although the building was presented during the official ceremony, patients still have to wait.
As Kamil Barczyk, director of the Multispecialist Health Care Team “Bolesławiec-Zgorzelec,” explained to istotne.pl, the building is already being used, but launching the Long-Term Care and Treatment Facility itself requires completion of the procedure related to NFZ funding for services. The current stage? A call for tenders.
When will the first patients be admitted to the facility?
The key issue now is for the National Health Fund to decide the tender and sign an agreement with the hospital. The agreement is scheduled to be concluded in November.
Director: this is a standard procedure
The hospital director assured that nothing unusual was happening; these are simply the procedures.
He explained that it would be difficult to officially open the facility with patients already present.
The new building is intended for patients requiring long-term care
The Long-Term Care and Treatment Facility is intended for people who no longer require hospitalization in a standard hospital ward but, due to their health condition, need round-the-clock care, nursing and continued treatment. This assistance is used, among others, by chronically ill patients and people who have difficulty functioning independently.
The new facility is part of the expansion of St. Luke’s Hospital in Bolesławiec. During the official opening, it was presented as an important investment intended to improve care conditions and the organization of the facility’s operations.
