A concert entitled “Highlander, Return to the Mountain Pastures” – a tribute to John Paul II – will be held in the church at Castle Square.

The band, featuring violin, viola, double bass and unique pastoral instruments (trombita, shepherd’s horn, ocarina and pipes), will perform Highland songs and religious hymns. The best-known pieces will include “Bej Bystra Woda”, “Góralu czy ci nie żal”, “Barka” and “Abba Ojcze”. There will also be anecdotes and memories of John Paul II between the songs.

The band members are graduates of music academies. In 2010, the band recorded music for the television series “Szpilki na Giewoncie”.

The concert will take place on Sunday, 16 October, at 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
