The incident occurred on Monday, September 14, at a school on Jana Pawła II Street in Bolesławiec. Emergency services were notified of an irritating smell detected in one of the rooms.
Initially, it was not known what was causing the smell. The school administration decided to evacuate the entire floor. Around 70 people were evacuated from the building in total.
Firefighters and police officers were sent to the scene. The firefighters ventilated the room where the irritating substance had been detected.
According to the police’s latest findings, the source of the danger was pepper spray. Officers determined that two students had sprayed it in the boys’ restroom.
Fortunately, no one required medical assistance. After the rooms were ventilated and the emergency services completed their work, the situation was brought under control.
The case will be handled by a family court.
