The demolition of the bridge is only part of a wide-ranging investment being carried out on DK94 in Bolesławiec. The reconstruction covers approximately 600 metres of the national road and the transport layout on both sides of the Bóbr River.
At the ends of the bridges, turbo roundabouts are planned to increase the capacity of the intersections and improve traffic flow. A new roundabout will also be built in the area of ul. Widok, while the existing roundabout at ul. Zgorzelecka will be reconstructed.
The investment also includes the reconstruction of the intersections of DK94 with ul. Spacerowa and the municipal road. New pavements and cycle paths, bus bays, stormwater drainage and lighting will be built. Solutions aimed at improving the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are also planned.
Once the entire project is completed, Bolesławiec is to gain two new bridges and a completely reconstructed transport layout in the area of the Bóbr River.
According to information from GDDKiA, all work is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2027.
Progress on the work can be viewed via a LIVE camera pointed at the bridge:
