On Sunday, August 30, the Municipal Harvest Festival was held in Ławszowa. This year’s harvest celebration was an opportunity not only to give thanks for the year’s crops, but also to enjoy time together and cultivate traditions.
The celebrations began with Holy Mass at the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ławszowa, celebrated by Father Krzysztof. After the service, a harvest procession with wreaths prepared by the village councils of Osiecznica municipality passed through the village.
After the ceremonial presentation of the harvest bread, the competition section began. The organizers prepared events both for the youngest participants and for representatives of the individual village councils.
The children competed to see who could eat an ear of corn first. This was followed by village council competitions, which included, among other things, a balance-beam test, a wellington-boot throw and throwing an egg at a photo of Ławszowa village head Dawid Gałązka.
Tomisław village council took first place in the village council competition. Świętoszów came second, while Ołobok came third.
There were also musical performances. Participants at the harvest festival were entertained by the bands “Bory,” “Nad Kwisą,” “Kapela Herbutów” and “Nasza Biesiada.”
Another important part of the celebration was the announcement of the results of the harvest-wreath competition. All the wreaths prepared by the village councils looked impressive, but the judging panel selected the three best.
Tomisław village council won first place. Osiecznica-Kliczków village council came second, while Ołobok village council took third place.
The organizers thanked all residents, farmers, guests and those involved in preparing the event. Special thanks were directed to Ławszowa village head Dawid Gałązka and the Village Council for preparing the venue, decorations, artistic program and the entire celebration.
The harvest festival in Ławszowa was therefore not only an opportunity to give thanks for the crops, but also a time for the local community to come together and preserve traditions. The organizers are already inviting everyone to next year’s Municipal Harvest Festival, which will be held in Ołobok.
