Oceana gave a fantastic concert in Ocice. The audience enjoyed songs by the singer known, among other things, for the hits “Cry Cry” and “Endless Summer”. The international star’s performance was the strongest musical highlight of Saturday’s Bolesławiec Municipality Days.
As recently as 25 August, the artist performed at the Forest Opera during the Top of the Top Sopot Festival 2026. In the concert broadcast by TVN, Oceana performed the song “Sunshine” and competed for the Amber Nightingale. Four days later, she sang for the residents of Bolesławiec municipality and guests who had come to Ocice.
The procession and traditional harvest bread
The Bolesławiec Municipality Days began with a traditional harvest festival. A long, colorful procession made its way through the village, featuring delegations, singing groups and rural women’s associations.
“Look how long this procession is. Very long and beautiful,” Beata Widera from the Municipal Culture and Sports Centre in Bolesławiec said from the stage.
The harvest bread was presented to the mayor by Ocice village head and Bolesławiec Municipal Councilor Daniel Kędzierski.
“As residents of the municipality, as residents of Ocice, we come to the mayor with this harvest bread,” the village head said.
Mayor Andrzej Janiec thanked residents for organizing the event and for their involvement in the development of the village.
“Today, residents of the entire municipality, as well as the entire county, can see what a beautiful village Ocice is and how wonderfully engaged its residents are. The rural women’s association, athletes and firefighters work together to build this beautiful village and community,” the mayor said. “Thank you for this bread. I promise to share it fairly.”
Thanks to the farmers
The official part of the ceremony devoted considerable attention to farmers and their year-round work.
“We are here to meet, appreciate this year’s harvest and thank the farmers—our neighbors, friends and families—for their commitment. Throughout the year, they watched the sky, waiting for rainy and sunny days. They had to face all the challenges posed by the weather, yet they still brought in the harvest,” Andrzej Janiec said.
The mayor also thanked the delegations that had prepared the harvest wreaths.
“These wreaths crown the farmers’ hard work. They are also the result of the work of many hands involved in their preparation and a beautiful combination of the tradition we want to be proud of,” he emphasized.
MP Szymon Pogoda also attended the ceremony.
“Thanks to all farmers for this season of hard and difficult work, so that a symbolic loaf of bread may always be present on the Polish table. It is work from the break of dawn until late at night, which people living in large cities often do not see,” the parliamentarian said.
Four hectares of corn maze
One of the event’s biggest attractions was a maze in the cornfield, prepared for the first time. It covers an area of approximately four hectares. Ten stations with questions about agriculture were set up along the route. The correct answer shows participants the way forward to the exit.
“We wanted to combine fun with educational elements related to agriculture,” explained Monika Stachowska from Osadkowski-Cebulski. “Not everyone answers the questions correctly and finds their way back out in twenty minutes, while the record-holder completed the route in four minutes. So it is possible to get lost—but that was exactly the point.”
Three prizes are to be drawn among the maze participants. The grand prize will be an electric scooter.
The attraction received positive feedback from participants.
“Overall, I like it very much. I didn’t expect there to be so many attractions. The corn maze is brilliant—I really recommend it to everyone. We got a little lost, but we found the right path again and managed to make it through,” one of the harvest festival participants said.
Workshops, mower races and bees
Saturday’s program also included, among other things, mower races, an exotic animal exhibition, a shooting range, a cycling competition, free inflatable attractions, art workshops and beekeeping activities.
Jędrzej Górny from Boża Pasieka presented participants with a demonstration hive containing live bees.
“These are Carniolan bees. The bees are in a demonstration hive on a single frame. You can also see the queen bee up close. We bring these hives to workshops, and the children look for the queen and learn what is on the frame,” the beekeeper explained.
The Bolesławiec Municipality Days continue on Sunday
Sunday will be the second day of the event in Ocice. The organizers are inviting families in particular. Visitors will once again be able to enter the corn maze, while the prepared facilities and stage will be given over to the municipality’s youngest residents.
“There will be children’s performances, attractions for young people, and we will end the day with an open-air cinema. We prepared the corn maze for the first time. Judging by residents’ feedback, they like it very much. Perhaps next year it will be larger and more complicated, with an outdoor game, puzzles and places to find,” Mayor Andrzej Janiec announced.
The Farmers’ Family Day will also feature a mechanical bull, an alpaca enclosure, hobby horsing, a foam party, scarecrow-making workshops, soap bubbles, activities on building homes for wild pollinators and competitions with prizes. The Bolesławiec Municipality Days will end with an open-air cinema.
