63 streetlights await fixtures. The municipality explains the delay in switching on lighting along the path to Kruszyn

A Reader wrote to us, pointing out the lack of lighting along the pedestrian and cycling route leading from the roundabout toward Kruszyn. As the reader recalled, around three months ago the head of Bolesławiec Municipality announced lighting for the popular route, which continues as far as the recreational shelter.

– Meanwhile, early in the evening, the stumps of the lighting poles, without fixtures, are still shrouded in darkness, and nothing suggests that this will change in the near future – the Reader wrote.

We asked Bolesławiec Municipality about the matter. The office said:

The implementation of lighting for the bicycle path in Kruszyn is at the final stage – only the LED lighting fixtures remain to be installed and connected. The cable line supplying all 63 streetlights has been completed. The lighting poles have been installed on precast concrete foundations. And it explains:

Due to difficulties with the delivery of lighting fixtures, which were independent of both the Contractor and the Investor (the Municipal Office), and which were required by the technical lighting design, we had to twice postpone the project completion deadline. The original deadline provided for completion of the works by June 30 this year

When will the path be lit?

The office said: – Based on reliable, verified information concerning disruptions in the operations of a leading fixture manufacturer (restructuring proceedings have been initiated), the final deadline for completion of the project was amended to October 30, 2026.

Municipal authorities assure residents that they are monitoring delivery of the fixtures in question on an ongoing basis. We established that they are to be delivered on Monday, October 12. Municipal officials said: – The Contractor declares that it will immediately send an installation team to the construction site.

How long will the work take?

Installation of 63 fixtures is expected to take approx. 3–4 working days. There is a chance that the work will be completed by the end of the current week. Municipal officials also emphasize that this will not involve any additional costs for the investment.

We emphasize that the installed lighting will be among the most modern systems in the region – each fixture will allow separate control of both operating hours and, above all, lighting intensity.
