The most littered areas of our city were designated for the cleanup. The middle-school students cleaned up the areas around Mostowa and Wróblewskiego Streets, the area around the boulevard on the Bóbr, as well as the area around Jeleniogórska and Zwycięstwa Streets.
The area around Gdańska Street turned out to be the most littered. It was there that the students from Gimnazjum No. 4 collected the largest pile of rubbish. They became the winners of the competition, receiving the first prize of PLN 600. The other middle schools shared second place, receiving PLN 480 each.
The fact that the outskirts of the city are heavily littered is demonstrated by the fact that a dozen or so bags of rubbish were collected from each cleaned area. Plastic and glass bottles, paper and pieces of boards were just some of the waste collected by students from schools in Bolesławiec. In total, students from all the middle schools took part in cleaning up Bolesławiec, as did—although not in the competition—Primary Schools No. 1 and 3 and Kindergarten No. 7.
