Police officers from the Drug Crime-Fighting Team of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra secured nearly one and a half kilograms of drugs, as well as illegally possessed firearms and ammunition. A 51-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra was also detained. Investigators determined that the man had been growing cannabis from June 2023 to September 2025 and then producing marijuana from it.
During a search of the premises occupied by the 51-year-old, police officers found a total of more than 1.4 kg of narcotic drugs and products containing marijuana. (According to the prosecutor’s office, this consisted of 1,165.73 grams of cannabis herb other than fiber hemp, 232.84 grams of cookies containing marijuana and 13.10 grams of hashish).
That was not the end of the list of items found. Four firearms were also discovered in the apartment, including a sporting firearm in the form of a 92-centimeter-long rifle. Officers also secured 1,618 rounds of .22 LR rimfire ammunition.
The 51-year-old did not have the required permit for firearms and ammunition.
On August 19, the man was brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Jelenia Góra, where he was charged with possessing firearms and ammunition without the required permit, as well as manufacturing narcotic drugs and possessing a psychotropic substance.
The suspect admitted to committing the alleged offenses and gave explanations. The prosecutor’s office also reported that the man had not previously been convicted.
The prosecutor filed a motion with the District Court in Jelenia Góra for the 51-year-old to be placed in pre-trial detention. The court rejected the motion and instead ordered police supervision for the suspect.
The offenses the man is charged with carry a sentence of between 3 and 20 years in prison.
