The operation was carried out by officers from the Football Hooligan Crime Unit of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław. Among those detained are men linked to the football hooligan circles of Wrocław and Lubin clubs.
The first detainee was a 26-year-old resident of Wrocław. Police suspected that he might possess and sell drugs. During a search of his car and apartment, they found cocaine and PLN 17,000 in cash, which may have come from trading in narcotic substances.
The next detention was more dynamic. A 34-year-old resident of Lubin, linked to the local football hooligan circle, failed to stop for a check on the A4 motorway and tried to escape from the police. His journey ended in a roadside ditch, where he was detained.
In the car, officers found nearly 2,500 doses of marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy tablets, electronic scales, several mobile phones and a machete. The court ordered the 34-year-old to be remanded in custody for three months.

Another intervention took place before Sunday's match in Świdnica. Police seized flares, signal flares and firecrackers, as well as club shirts and scarves stolen earlier. According to the officers' findings, clothing in the colours of antagonistic football hooligan groups was to be burned during the match.
Police emphasise that operations targeting football hooligan crime are intended to limit both drug trafficking and stadium hooliganism, as well as other offences associated with this environment.
Possession of significant quantities of drugs and trafficking in them carries a penalty of up to 10 years' imprisonment.
