Work is underway on the new bridge over the Bóbr on Zgorzelecka Street. The roundabout is no longer there. Cars traveling on the bypass, namely national road 94, have priority. Drivers coming from the city center have to wait in a major traffic jam, sometimes lasting 40 minutes.
The difficulties will increase because Bolesławiec’s ceramics festival has just begun. Many tourists will arrive in the city in the coming days. We did not hear the mayor mention, even in passing, the problems awaiting drivers during his long speeches at today’s city council session. Nor do we know whether the mayor has done anything to make life easier for residents during the festival.
Major traffic disruptions
DK94 in Bolesławiec – construction of a new bridge over the Bóbr is underway. Temporary traffic arrangements, lane reductions and changed signage are in effect. The work is expected to continue until the end of 2026.
DK36 in Lisowice – the road is completely closed over a section of approximately 420 meters because of roundabout construction. The detour runs via DW292 and DP1244D. The work is expected to be completed by December 31.
A4 motorway – a speed limit of 80 km/h is in effect on sections between the Godzieszów, Bolesławiec and Krzyżowa interchanges. The reason is damage and bulging of the road surface.
Disruptions also occur, among others, on DK27, DK12, DK3 and DK32, as well as on A18. Border checks are being carried out at the crossings in Przewóz, Łęknica and Olszyna.
The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways appeals to drivers to exercise caution, pay attention to temporary signage and check road conditions before setting out.
