President Piotr Roman, presenting a report at the August session of the Bolesławiec City Council on the most important actions undertaken between sessions, spoke, among other things, about plans for the next stage of developing the Water and Sports Centre on Spacerowa Street.

On that occasion, the mayor mentioned the construction of a footbridge over the Bóbr. – We hope that we will also manage to build a footbridge over the Bóbr next year. The footbridge being designed will be considerably safer – said Piotr Roman.

The president emphasised that the plans concerning the footbridge’s location had also changed recently: – Many thanks to the president of PWiK Dolina Bobru, Grzegorz Kozłowski, who organised a meeting with specialists from the university.

The latter concluded that the embankment on the swimming-pool side had been “unnecessarily built” and that it “interfered with the river’s flow during floods”.

The embankment will be removed

The result? The embankment will be removed, which in turn will affect the location of the new footbridge. What is more, a hydroelectric power plant is also planned to be built there in the future.

We will certainly return to these topics.
