A resident expects the site manager to take steps to tidy up and improve the condition of the area used by both children and adults.
According to the person who reported the matter, the current appearance of the space does not meet the standards that can be expected of a residential recreational area. As can be seen in the attached photograph, the green area contains uncut grass and weeds.
In an email to our editorial office, they wrote:
This is what the children’s garden and recreational area for adults on Kosiby Street look like. Could you please intervene with the Housing Cooperative on this matter, because it has been going on since spring? This is simply a joke.
We contacted Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa Bolesławianka asking it to respond to the concerns raised and to inform us whether and when maintenance work is planned in the area.
Here is the cooperative’s response:
Good morning,
In response to the inquiry concerning the mowing of green areas near the buildings on Kosiby Street, we inform you that, due to the high temperatures persisting recently and the drought, grass mowing has been temporarily postponed. This decision was dictated by the weather conditions and the need to limit excessive drying and degradation of the green areas.
Mowing work is scheduled to resume on 19 August 2026. In the first instance, work will be carried out in playgrounds and recreational areas, followed by the remaining green areas. The work will depend on current weather conditions.
Under the adopted schedule, green areas are planned to be mowed three times during the year. The timing is adjusted to actual weather conditions and the state of the vegetation. During periods of high temperatures and drought, mowing too frequently can lead to excessive drying and deterioration of lawns.
It should also be emphasized that residents themselves point out to the cooperative the need to reduce mowing frequency during periods of drought and high temperatures. We therefore strive to maintain the right balance between aesthetics and the ability to use recreational areas, on the one hand, and the protection of greenery, on the other.
Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa „Bolesławianka” maintains approximately 19 hectares of green areas. With such a large area, mowing all the grounds simultaneously is not possible, so the work is carried out in stages. In the next stage, beginning on 19 August, playgrounds and recreational areas will be addressed first.
As for the photograph provided, we note that the way it was taken and the perspective used may create the impression that the grass is significantly higher than it actually is. The photograph does not fully reflect the actual height of the vegetation or the overall condition of the entire area.
At the same time, we inform you that Estate Administration No. 3 of SM „Bolesławianka”, which is responsible for servicing the indicated area on Kosiby Street, has not so far received any report, inquiry or intervention concerning the mowing of this area. Therefore, the statement in the Reader’s message that “the matter has been going on since spring” is not confirmed by the reports recorded by the relevant Administration.
The cooperative continuously monitors the condition of the green areas and carries out work in accordance with the adopted schedule, taking into account weather conditions, the state of the greenery and comments reported by residents.
Yours faithfully
The Management Board of
Spółdzielnia Mieszkaniowa „Bolesławianka”
