On Saturday, 24 October 2026, the annual Pita Celebration took place in Gościszów—an event combining culinary heritage, folk music and communal celebration. Homemade baked goods, performances by folk groups and a competition for the tastiest pita awaited participants. One of the event’s highlights was the competition for the tastiest pita. First place was won by Janina Jasińska.

The musical programme was provided by the folk groups “Rozmaryn” from Markocice, “Chabry” from Kwiesiszowice, “Działoszynianie” from Działoszyn, the “Herbutów” folk band from Tomisław, “Rząsinanki” from Rząsiny, “My Słowianie” from Osła and “Milikowianki z kapelą” from Milików. Their performances created a unique atmosphere and accompanied a gathering full of kindness and joy.

The Salsa Cubana dance group from Bolesławiec also performed as guests. The energetic show, hot Cuban rhythms and dance choreography brought plenty of joy to the dance floor and created a unique atmosphere.

The organisers thanked the “Gościszowianki” group for its heart, work and commitment to organising the event, as well as for keeping the pita-baking tradition alive and passing it on to future generations.
