Officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters stopped a passenger car for inspection. A 54-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County was behind the wheel.
After checking the driver's details in police systems, it turned out that the man had three court-ordered bans on driving on his record. This did not stop him from getting behind the wheel again.
According to information provided by the police, the 54-year-old told officers that he thought the ban's period of validity had already expired. His reason for going out was reportedly simply a fishing trip.
The ban is in force until May 2029
The driver's explanation did not change his legal situation. Under a judgment issued by the District Court in Bolesławiec, the 54-year-old is banned from driving any motor vehicles until May 2029.
During the inspection, the officers also uncovered another problem. The car the man was driving did not have valid technical inspection results. As a result, the officers confiscated the vehicle's registration certificate.
The 54-year-old must now expect further consequences. Breaking court-ordered bans on driving is punishable by up to 5 years in prison.
