Intervention took place in one of the localities in Bolesławiec commune. Traffic officers noticed a car whose driver was clearly having trouble maintaining the correct lane. The vehicle was veering onto the shoulder, which aroused the officers’ suspicions.

The officers stopped the car for inspection. The reason for the dangerous driving quickly became clear.

The officers smelled alcohol

As soon as the car door was opened, the officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver. Bolesławiec police therefore checked the man’s sobriety.

The test showed more than 1‰ of alcohol in his system.

The driver was a 72-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. The man was arrested and will be held responsible for driving under the influence of alcohol.

He faces serious consequences

Driving a car after drinking alcohol can have serious consequences both for the driver and for other road users. In this case, the 72-year-old could be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison and could also lose his driving licence for a long period.
