The issue of building a playground in Osiedle Kwiatowe returned following feedback from residents. A reader wrote to our editorial team, pointing out that the youngest residents of this part of Bolesławiec do not have access to a modern place to play. In her opinion, the existing playgrounds are too small and do not meet the needs of the developing estate.

As a result, our editorial team contacted Bolesławiec City Hall with questions about plans to build a new playground, the possibility of using the location indicated by the resident, and the potential acquisition of external funding for such an investment.

The city authorities’ response shows that the construction of a new playground has not been ruled out:

The City of Bolesławiec is considering building a new playground in Osiedle Kwiatowe; however, final decisions and the implementation schedule will depend on budgetary possibilities and the acquisition of external funds.

The City Hall also emphasizes that the character of the estate is taken into account when analyzing needs:

When analyzing this need, the specific nature of the estate must be taken into account – detached houses predominate here, and most residents have private play equipment on their properties. In addition, statistics indicate a relatively small number of children in this area compared with other parts of the city. At present, residents can also use existing playgrounds located nearby – on Modrzewiowa, Modłowa, Różana and Narcyzów streets.

One of the questions was also whether the area indicated by the reader – located near the church and equipped with a safe surface – belongs to the city and could be designated for a playground. The City Hall’s answer is unequivocal.

No, the indicated area is not owned by the Municipality of Bolesławiec.

The city authorities also addressed the possibility of obtaining external funding for similar investments.

The City Hall continuously monitors announced calls for applications for funding tasks from external sources, both national and European Union. If a support program appears whose criteria correspond to this type of investment, the appropriate application documentation will be prepared and submitted for the construction or equipping of a playground in Osiedle Kwiatowe.

The City Hall also points out that the development of Osiedle Kwiatowe is being recognized and will influence future decisions concerning recreational infrastructure.

Given the dynamic development of residential construction in this part of Bolesławiec, we recognize the need to gradually adapt recreational infrastructure to residents’ expectations. Currently, the youngest residents can use facilities located on Modrzewiowa, Modłowa, Różana and Narcyzów streets. However, taking into account the expected influx of new families, the city continually analyzes the demand for new recreation areas so that their availability is optimal and meets actual social needs.
