Our editorial office received a report from a reader who is drawing attention to a safety issue affecting residents in the area of the Bóbr River, near the viaduct in Bolesławiec. As she emphasized, despite the swimming ban in force at the site, according to her account there are no clear information boards or signs informing people of the restrictions in effect.
The person reporting the issue:
Swimming is prohibited in the area of the Bóbr River in Bolesławiec, near the viaduct, but there are no information boards or signs at the site indicating this. I was there recently with my dog and noticed that many people are completely unaware of the ban—children go into the water and wet their hands, while dogs swim freely.
She adds:
I pointed this out to one of the people present, but was told that he knew nothing about any ban because there is no visible information about it.
In the reader’s opinion, the lack of visible signs may lead to people unknowingly violating the ban and pose a risk to the health and safety of those using the riverside area, especially children:
I believe this is a serious failure and a real threat to health. It would be worthwhile to publicize the matter and draw the relevant services’ attention to the need to install clear signs informing people that swimming is prohibited at this location.
We appeal for action. We also remind you that we regularly publish information about the Bóbr River. (Yesterday’s data: New Information About the Bóbr River. Services Announce Inspection Results and an Important Message for Residents).
