During the latest session of the City Council, convened on August 31, councillors approved new fares for passenger transport on MZK lines. A single full-fare ticket will increase by 20 groszy. It will cost 2.10 zł. A reduced-fare ticket will be 10 groszy more expensive (1.05 zł) – only for students and veterans. Other passengers will pay 1.30 zł for a reduced-fare ticket.
Passengers will pay 4 zł more for full-fare personalized monthly tickets within the city: up to 5 km (52 zł) and from 5 to 10 km (66 zł), and 2 zł more for reduced-fare tickets (26 and 33 zł).
Periodic and network tickets will also become more expensive. A full-fare ticket for the urban network within Bolesławiec will increase by 4 zł and cost 72 zł, while the reduced-fare ticket will be 2 zł more expensive (36 zł). A full-fare quarterly ticket for the urban network within the city of Bolesławiec will cost 14 zł more (194 zł), while the reduced-fare version will cost 7 zł more (97 zł).
The 24-hour ticket will also become more expensive. Its price: 8 zł (full fare) and 4 zł (reduced fare).
The justification for the resolution states: “The reasons for introducing the ticket price increase are inflation, rising fuel and VAT prices, and higher energy costs. The last ticket price increase took place in 2008. [...] The average fuel price, which has the greatest impact on transport costs, has risen by 30% since the last increase, cumulative inflation since 2008 has exceeded 12%, while the ticket price is rising from 1.90 zł to 2.10 zł, i.e. by 10.5%.”
The legal act will enter into force two weeks after its publication in the Official Journal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
