The information provided indicates that monitoring conducted by PGW Wody Polskie found no dead fish. At the same time, it was confirmed that the Bóbr riverbed on the section from the Pilchowice Dam to the Rakowice Small Hydroelectric Power Plant remains unobstructed.
Work is also under way to develop solutions that will allow the water level in the Pilchowice Reservoir to be lowered further while limiting the displacement of sediments.
Microbiological test results are available
The Provincial Sanitary and Epidemiological Station reported the results of microbiological tests of samples collected at three measurement points—in Nielestno, Rakowice Małe and Włodzice Małe. The presence of bacteria Escherichia coli and enterococci was detected at all locations, but their levels do not exceed the permissible limits.
Analyses of samples collected on 14 July are continuing. Continuous monitoring of water oxygenation and temperature is being conducted at the Rakowice and Pilchowice II weirs.
Tap water is safe
The statement also emphasized that residents using the water supply network can safely use the water for consumption. The water supplied to consumers comes from deep-water intakes and remains fit for drinking.
The authorities also provided the latest hydrological data. The average outflow from the Pilchowice Reservoir over the last 24 hours was 3.7 m³/s, while the average inflow reached 12.4 m³/s. The water level at the Pilchowice gauge remains in the low-water-level zone.
Only light rainfall was recorded in the Bóbr basin over the last 24 hours—up to 2 mm. At the same time, IMGW issued a first-degree thunderstorm warning.
The ban remains in force
Regulation No. 18 of the Governor of Lower Silesia dated 4 July 2026 remains in force. It introduces a ban on using the waters of the Bóbr River on the section from the crest of the Pilchowice Dam to the Rakowice Reservoir.
The ban covers:
- entering the water, including swimming,
- watering animals,
- recreational and commercial fishing,
- using the water for commercial purposes,
- using watercraft.
As the authorities emphasize, the decision to lift the restrictions currently in force will be made only after full certainty has been obtained that there is no threat to people’s health and safety.
