As users of the facility told us, the camera’s presence caused them discomfort. People using the sauna area pointed out that they rest there and also perform activities related to changing clothes, which is why they care about maintaining their privacy and sense of intimacy.
Did the camera record people using the loungers? Why was it installed precisely in that location, and was its placement appropriate? We put these questions to the Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji.
MOSiR informed us that an expanded monitoring system has been operating at the facility since July 1, 2026. The cameras were installed to ensure the highest possible level of safety for people using Termy Bolesławiec and to protect property.
– The system operates in accordance with applicable law and with respect for our guests’ privacy – MOSiR said.
According to the facility manager, the cameras were positioned during the system’s installation by the company carrying out the project. After the monitoring system was launched, however, an additional review of the locations of individual devices was conducted, taking into account their functionality and the comfort of people using Termy Bolesławiec.
– Guided by our concern to provide guests with the greatest possible sense of comfort while using the sauna area, the camera mentioned in the question is no longer located there – MOSiR informed us.
The manager of Termy Bolesławiec emphasized that the goal is to maintain a balance between ensuring safety and respecting the privacy and comfort of people using the facility.
