Franz Schubert’s string quartet “Death and the Maiden” (in an arrangement by Gustav Mahler) and Edward Grieg’s suite “From Holberg’s Time” can be heard on Friday, September 9, at the Sanctuary of the Assumption of the Mother of the Church. It begins at 7:00 p.m.. Admission is free.
Performing will be: Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud and the Festival Orchestra. “These are top-class performers,” Piotr Roman, president of Bolesławiec, emphasized during a City Council session held on August 31. “Andrzej Kosendiak, director of the International Wratislavia Cantans Festival, likes our city. Thanks to him, the best festival ensembles come to Bolesławiec. It is worth adding that tickets for this type of concert in Wrocław cost as much as 200 PLN.”
The city budget allocated PLN 31,000 for this purpose.
