In May, the City Office commissioned the company "JOBART" to conduct a survey on the environmental awareness of Bolesławiec residents. One thousand residents were surveyed. Here are some figures from the report:

  • 65% of residents know which colour containers are intended for particular types of waste
  • 24% do not have the time or desire to sort waste
  • 16% see no financial benefits in sorting waste
  • 25% of residents believe that the city is cleaner
  • 20% of residents say there are fewer illegal dumps
  • 5% believe that waste can be put to use

The survey shows that residents do not see a financial benefit in sorting waste. Few people know that separating waste means they do not have to pay for its transport to a landfill. A fee is charged only for the removal of unsorted waste.

For almost 56% of residents, local television is the main source of information about waste sorting. One in four Bolesławiec residents learned about sorting from leaflets and posters. Only 6% of residents had not encountered any information.
