Today, after 10:00 a.m., we received information from a Reader about an increased police presence at the Municipal Stadium in Bolesławiec. As he reported, a large group of riot police officers wearing white helmets was gathered around the stand designated for visiting team supporters, the so-called “cage.” Sounds resembling firecracker explosions could also be heard several times. Police vehicles were parked in the nearby car park.

As we determined, the situation was not connected with any incident. Police exercises were taking place at the stadium, during which officers were improving procedures for responding to various types of threats.

Police are using the summer break in football competitions for training and improving their skills. The exercises include, among other things, activities related to ensuring safety during mass events and responding to situations that sometimes accompany sporting events, although they have nothing to do with sporting competition. Thanks to such training, the services are better prepared to act effectively in the event of real threats.
