As reported by the Świętoszów-based 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade, the 2S1 Goździk howitzer has just fired its last shot in the unit. Service members on the Goździk:

For years, it was an integral part of the training, service and daily work of many generations of artillerymen. For some, it was the first piece of equipment on which they took their initial steps in artillery; for others, it accompanied them through a significant part of their military careers.

And they emphasize:

Today, we are closing a certain chapter. An era is coming to an end, along with the history of equipment that faithfully served soldiers for years. New challenges and new opportunities lie ahead, but it is worth pausing for a moment and paying due respect to what was a symbol of our daily service for so many years.

And they conclude:

This is the last roar of a Goździk firing in our unit, but the memories, experience and history connected with this equipment will remain with us for a long time.

Thank you for your service together.
