Last weekend, the 28th edition of the Knightly Tournament took place in Kożuchów, with some of the best knights from Poland taking part. The sword-and-shield tournament was won by Janek Wasilewicz of the Syrokomla coat of arms, a competitor representing Bolesławieckie Stowarzyszenie Miecza.
Janek trains in Bolesławiec every day, where he also runs knightly combat classes. He further develops his skills at Wrocławska Szkoła Miecza.
This is not his first success. In April, we reported that the Bolesławiec resident had become Poland’s third-ranked knight in two formats and had been just one step away from the national team. (During this entire series, the Bolesławiec resident reached the podium five times, taking two first places, one second place and two third places. “This is nevertheless an outstanding result, considering the stature and level of competition,” the association emphasized at the time).
For the local community, this is further proof that Bolesławiec can successfully compete with Poland’s largest centers. Janek Wasilewicz’s result once again shows that our city already has competitors capable of fighting for the highest goals.
