The fight against her husband’s illness

My husband has been struggling with serious health problems for years. Diabetes, heart failure, and recently kidney failure as well. A week ago, he underwent a procedure to insert a catheter for peritoneal dialysis. He can barely move, and his life is hanging by a thread. Dialysis will be performed at home—it requires a sterile room with disinfectable surfaces, without fabrics, flowers, animals or children. In our current conditions, we are unable to provide this for him. I am afraid that peritonitis will develop and that his damaged heart will not withstand the inflammation. Our nearly five-year-old son, Adaś, may not remember his father.

The death of my mother and debts to repay

My mother died on Women’s Day. Covering the funeral costs was difficult, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. My mother had a mortgage secured against our property—the debts still have to be repaid.

My daughter’s pregnancy and a renovation we cannot afford

A month after my mother’s death, it turned out that my daughter, who is not yet 18, was pregnant. Her boyfriend comes from an orphanage—he moved to Bolesławiec, trying to become independent after reaching adulthood. We have only two rooms, one with a kitchenette. The other half of the house is unfit for habitation. We have to renovate a room for our daughter and the baby, but my husband’s health does not allow him to do physical work.

What we are raising money for

We want to use the funds raised to repay the mortgage and renovate the house—on one side for our daughter and her child, and on the other for the sick father, adapting a room for dialysis.

A request for help

Before starting the fundraiser, I pretended that I could cope. I send the link to friends, but so far our greatest support has come from strangers whom my husband once met online. It is embarrassing to beg for help, but I will do everything to ensure that Adaś has his father for as long as possible. I have seen other fundraisers exceed their targets thanks to people’s involvement. Maybe a miracle will happen and my husband will live to receive kidney and heart transplants.

The fundraiser has been verified—everything described in it is supported by documents. Fundraiser link: Let’s support the family with the renovation and their fight against illness!
