For nearly 80 years, the men and women of Ochotniczej Straży Pożarnej w Włodzicach Wielkich have been safeguarding the safety of local residents. Since 1946, the unit has continuously taken part in rescue and firefighting operations, responding to fires, road accidents, the aftermath of storms, flooding and other random incidents.
Volunteer firefighters are ready to act around the clock, providing assistance wherever it is needed. Today, however, they themselves need support. The unit currently uses a STAR 244 fire engine, which faithfully served the firefighters during numerous operations for many years. Unfortunately, the vehicle is now heavily worn out. Increasingly frequent breakdowns, high repair costs and difficulties obtaining replacement parts mean that continuing to use it is becoming an ever greater challenge. In rescue services, equipment reliability is crucial, as people’s health and lives often depend on it.
Therefore, OSP Włodzice Wielkie has launched a fundraiser to purchase a reliable rescue and firefighting vehicle. A new vehicle will allow the firefighters to reach incident locations faster, conduct rescue operations more effectively and improve the safety of both residents and the firefighters themselves. The estimated purchase cost is approximately 150,000 zlotys, which is a huge challenge for the small unit and the local community.
The firefighters stress that if they manage to obtain a vehicle from another source, all funds raised will be used to equip the unit further. Among other things, they will purchase fire hoses, water fittings, personal protective equipment and essential rescue and firefighting equipment.
The men and women of OSP Włodzice Wielkie are volunteers who combine their service with family and professional lives every day. Despite their many responsibilities, they are always ready to help as soon as the alarm siren sounds. Every donation and every sharing of information about the fundraiser brings the unit closer to achieving its goal. This is an investment not only in equipment, but above all in the safety of the residents of Włodzice Wielkie and the surrounding area.
On behalf of the firefighters, we sincerely thank you for every form of support and encourage you to join this important initiative.
