On 16 November 2023, Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz asked the bishop to relieve him of his position as parish priest of the Parish of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Nicholas in Bolesławiec. The reason was reportedly the priest’s internal burnout.

The bishop granted his request, and in December Father Jarosiewicz took over the parish in Węgliniec. However, as early as September 2025, Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz was removed from that parish. He still holds the position of parish priest, but cannot perform his ministry in connection with proceedings concerning suspected irregularities at his previous parish in Bolesławiec.

“A trial concerning possible irregularities in the management of the previous parish is taking place before an ecclesiastical court. Father Jarosiewicz was removed to a place where he will await the conclusion of the trial,” the bishop’s spokesman, Father Waldemar Wesołowski, said last year.

Court cases, press reports about the priest and his disappearance

At the same time, several lawsuits were taking place that Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz and Adrian Drankowski had filed in the courts in Bolesławiec and Jelenia Góra against journalists from istotne.pl, accusing them of publishing material that defamed them and exposed them to a loss of public trust.

Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz also remained in the headlines of national newspapers. Journalists called him a “scandal-monger” and associated him with the banned “perpetual Masses” and questions about what he had done with the money collected. Onet, Wirtualna Polska, Wprost, Wyborcza, TokFM and the Polish Press Agency wrote about the priest.

After Father Jarosiewicz was removed from the parish in Węgliniec, no one knew where the priest was staying.

“At the end of January 2026, in a court corridor, I asked Bishop Andrzej Siemieniowski, who was a witness in the trial against the editor-in-chief of istotne.pl, where Father Andrzej was currently located after leaving Węgliniec. The bishop replied that he had no idea and did not know the priest’s whereabouts,” says Grażyna Hanaf, a journalist with istotne.pl.

An unbelievable coincidence

From information reaching the editorial office—people sent photographs—we knew that Father Andrzej and the celebrity Adrian were still being seen together in various places and towns. But these were usually shops and restaurants.

On social media, Adrian Drankowski boasted about his work as a manager at the Biały Jar restaurant in Karpacz.

On Friday, 22 May, after hearing the judgment dismissing the priest’s lawsuit against an istotne.pl journalist, we decided to visit the restaurant ourselves and ask at the source. As is known, Adrian Drankowski has appeared online again on the program of Friz, a popular influencer among young people, where he is competing for the main prize of PLN 50,000.

We put off visiting Biały Jar. First we visited another restaurant, then we met with friends. Together, we drove to Biały Jar.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, we not only found Adrian Drankowski at work, but also… managed to meet Father Andrzej Jarosiewicz as he was walking from the restaurant to his car parked right next to it. It was a one-in-a-million coincidence! For a long time we could not believe it, especially since the priest had not been in court for the announcement of the judgment.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, we spoke with the wait staff at Biały Jar. They confirmed that Adrian Drankowski had been working as the manager of the Biały Jar restaurant and hotel for three years and was a very good boss, available to employees seven days a week, 24 hours a day. They also claimed that they had never seen Father Jarosiewicz in the restaurant.

They did not comment on the fact that the priest had got into a car parked outside Biały Jar moments earlier.
