In October 2025, an employee of Zakłady Ceramiczne „Bolesławiec” (ZCB) received a private lawsuit from ZCB president Arkadiusz Grzesiowski, in which, in addition to publishing an apology, Grzesikowski demanded PLN 25,000 for himself as compensation for damage to his reputation.
It concerned the employee’s critical post on a popular social networking site, in which he referred, without using profanity, to two issues: how the president treats people employed at ZCB and what qualifications he has to manage a ceramics company.
We wrote about the case in the article Ceramics company president first fired the employee and then sued him for PLN 25,000 over an online post.
At the first hearing, both men decided to settle the case.
– I believe that reaching a settlement is always an expression of the parties’ goodwill – said the employee’s lawyer, attorney Krzysztof Orleski. – The parties decided that it would be better not to continue or escalate the dispute, and the terms on which the settlement was reached seem appropriate and beneficial to both sides – the lawyer added.
The employee, stressed by his visit to court, did not want to comment on the settlement. ZCB board member Wojciech Huczyński, who was present at the court, expressed satisfaction with the conclusion of the case.
The employee was supported in the courtroom by colleagues from the ZCB Workers’ Trade Union.
