Detectives from Bolesławiec arrested a 38-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality suspected of possessing narcotics. The man maintained that he had no prohibited substances on him or in his apartment. However, the officers decided to thoroughly search the rooms he occupied.
During the search of the room used by the 38-year-old, the detectives found drugs. They seized marijuana and hashish.
The man was arrested and brought before the District Prosecutor’s Office in Bolesławiec.
Investigators are carrying out further activities in the case and clarifying the circumstances surrounding possession of the seized narcotics.
Under the applicable regulations, possession of drugs is punishable by up to 3 years in prison. However, if the case concerns a significant quantity of narcotics, the sentence may increase to as much as 10 years in prison.
Police remind the public that possessing any quantity of illegal substances is prohibited in Poland and may result in criminal liability.
