Next week, from 21 to 27 September, around-the-clock tactical activities will be conducted in Sector “A” Karliki and Sector “D” Świętoszów. Explosive and smoke-producing devices are used, among other things, to simulate a battlefield. Depending on weather conditions, the sounds they produce may be heard from a considerable distance, including in the Bolesławiec area.
Firing Also at Night and on Saturdays and Sundays
On Sunday, 20 September, as was also the case on Saturday, 19 September, firing is scheduled at the Świętoszów training ground from 8:00 to 16:00 and from 21:00 to 1:00.
Further live-fire exercises are scheduled for next week. Firing involving heavy equipment may be particularly intense:
- Świętoszów Training Ground – on Tuesday, 22 September, firing is scheduled from 8:00 to 13:00.
- Świętoszów Training Ground – on Saturday, 26 September, daytime firing will take place from 8:00 to 16:00, followed by nighttime firing from 21:00 to 2:00. During this time, the sound of gunfire may be particularly clearly audible in the Bolesławiec County area.
Military Warns: Entry to the Training Ground Is Prohibited
The military reminds the public that the training ground is a hazardous area and that unauthorized persons are prohibited from entering it. The warning also applies to mushroom pickers, hunters and walkers.
The boundaries of hazardous areas are marked with red warning signs. Military posts may appear on roads leading into the training ground. During the day, red flags also indicate that exercises are underway, while at night warning lights are used.
The military stresses that the exercise schedule is subject to change. The times and locations of firing may be changed depending on training requirements.
