The first two cars— a Mercedes and a Dacia Duster—managed to stop safely. Then the woman driving a Range Rover hit the rear of the Dacia, which, propelled by the impact, struck the Mercedes. Shortly afterward, a BMW hit the rear of the Range Rover.
No one was seriously injured in the incident. All the participants were sober and were traveling alone.
The women driving the Range Rover and BMW were fined for failing to maintain a safe distance and causing the collision.
Traffic on the road was alternating for several dozen minutes. After the vehicles were removed and the roadway cleared, full traffic flow was restored.
Emergency services were on the scene, including the police, fire brigade and emergency medical services team.
