“Se-Ma-For Festival On Tour 2011” will arrive in Bolesławiec on Thursday, 14 July, at the special invitation of the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre–International Ceramics Centre. Animation enthusiasts can enjoy free screenings, a film-based City Game, an exhibition of stills and photographs from the set of the puppet series “Zajączek Parauszek”, and animation workshops in which participants will act in an animated film.

The event will begin on Tuesday with a 10:30 morning film screening for the youngest audience. The film “The Adventures of the Little Penguin Pik-Pok” will be shown at Forum Cinema (70 minutes, ages 3+, admission free).

At noon, an animation workshop will take place. For 90 minutes, a film will be made in which people, rather than puppets, will take part. The director will arrange successive phases of the participants’ movements, and the camera operator will photograph each phase. Played back quickly, the images will create the impression of animated movement. Workshop participants will receive a script and detailed instructions on how to act in an animated film.

Those interested can take part in an activity called the “City Game”. For approximately three hours, participants will walk around the city, learn about the history of individual buildings and, on that basis, create a puppet—a character whose appearance, personality traits and behaviour will have to reflect the city’s mood. The game is intended for families with children of all ages, as well as groups of acquaintances and friends. Ten teams can take part in the activity (a maximum of 5 people per team).

In the afternoon, free films will be screened. At 16:00, a selection of the film studio Se-ma-for’s latest puppet films will begin (119 minutes, ages 15+), followed at 18:30 by “The Best of Se-ma-for Film Festival”—selected works from the festival’s first edition (120 minutes, ages 17+).

Attention! BOK-MCC invites anyone interested to join in the fun with Se-ma-for.

Those interested in having fun and working with artists from Poland’s most important film studio can register at the Tourist and Cultural Information Point, Pl. Piłsudskiego 1c (the Forum Cinema lobby), or by telephone: 75 645-32-90.

Everyone interested in cinema, art, culture and animation is welcome—active people who dislike boredom and want to experience an unforgettable adventure. Volunteers will help run the film-based “City Game”.

The organisers invite families and groups of friends, young people and adults who would like to spend Thursday, 14 July, in an unusual way and take part in the “City Game”. Places are limited. A group may consist of a maximum of five and a minimum of three people. Each group must include at least one adult—a group supervisor.
