As of 3 March this year, new road traffic regulations have been in force. They provide for the confiscation of a driving licence for three months for exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h outside a built-up area on a single-carriageway, two-way road.

The result? Bolesławiec police headquarters reports:

Recently, officers from the Traffic Division of the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters stopped three drivers on DK 94 and confiscated their driving licences after they seriously violated speed regulations.

Two of them were motorcyclists who began the season by losing their licences. One of them, a 44-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, was travelling along the national road at as much as 180 km/h.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old resident of Lubań County exceeded the speed limit by 72 km/h.

A 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec municipality also lost her driving licence after exceeding the permitted speed by more than 50 km/h.

The new regulations are intended to improve the safety of all road users. Driver, ease off the accelerator—your life is worth far more than driving fast.
