The official welcome for the new deputy chief of the Bolesławiec police took place on Friday, 1 July. The ceremony was attended by, among others, Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman, County Head Cezary Przybylski and Deputy County Head Stanisław Chwojnicki. Subinspector Grzegorz Chirowski’s new deputy is subinspector Piotr Wałczyk.
Wałczyk is 41 years old. He graduated from the University of Wrocław (law) and the Academy of Economics (management). He began his police service in 1989. Ten years later, he became head of the Independent Criminal Section at the police headquarters in Jelenia Góra. In 2000, he became deputy commander of Police Station II in Jelenia Góra, and in 2007, he became head of that station.
There was also a change in the position of head of the Prevention Department at the Bolesławiec police headquarters. Superintendent Jacek Bandyk was entrusted with the duties of police chief in Zgorzelec. He was replaced by junior aspirant Krzysztof Policht.
