We recently reported that fifteen councilors of the Bolesławiec County Council voted in favor of merging St. Luke’s Hospital with the facility in Zgorzelec.
As it turns out, the Bolesławiec hospital will also merge with the Independent Public Healthcare Institution – Healthcare Center in Kunice. County councilors made the decision on this matter at the March session of the aforementioned body. They were unanimous – 15 voted in favor.

The merger will take place on the basis of an agreement under which all the assets of the Independent Public Healthcare Institution, Healthcare Center in Kunice, will be transferred to the Healthcare Institution in Bolesławiec, while retaining the name Bolesławiec Healthcare Organization for the merged entities, without conducting liquidation proceedings for the merging entities.

Bolesławiec County is the founding body for the independent public healthcare institution called “Bolesławiec Healthcare Organization,” and under the provisions of the Act on Medical Activity, the founding bodies of independent public healthcare institutions may merge these institutions by agreement when the institutions have different founding bodies.
