Today, a conference at the triQube Business Incubator in Wrocław summed up the edition of the project that ended in December and announced the next one. The meeting was attended by Marshal Paweł Gancarz and Deputy Marshal Michał Rado.
Lower Silesian companies are entering international markets with increasing confidence. During Friday’s conference at the triQube Business Incubator in Wrocław, the voivodeship local government summed up the results of the “Going Global 4.0 – Internationalisation of Lower Silesian Enterprises” programme and announced its next edition. The project ended in December last year, but its next edition will launch as early as March.
“We listen to entrepreneurs and respond to their needs. We are not slowing down – less than three months after one edition of the project ended, we are launching another,” emphasised Paweł Gancarz, Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
In less than two years, the programme organised 28 international business missions to the world’s most important trade fairs and industry events. More than 290 participants representing 134 Lower Silesian companies took part. Entrepreneurs presented their products and technologies, among other places, in Tokyo, Osaka, Dubai, Toronto, Vancouver, San Francisco, Lisbon, Madrid, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris and Bremen.
“Our goal is not only to showcase Lower Silesian products internationally. Above all, we want to build a safe ecosystem for the development of the regional economy, develop new supply chains and strengthen those that already exist,” said Michał Rado, Deputy Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
The programme’s results can be seen in concrete figures. Companies participating in the project signed 201 contracts with a total declared value of nearly PLN 28 million. However, this represents only part of the potential benefits. Nearly 70% of entrepreneurs say they are continuing discussions with foreign partners. They estimate that these talks could result in further agreements worth more than PLN 113 million.
“The number and value of contracts, both those already concluded and those in prospect, clearly show that projects such as Going Global have a real impact on the development of our region,” noted the Deputy Marshal Michał Rado.
Business missions also produce promotional results. More than 1,020 publications concerning the Lower Silesian companies participating in the project appeared in the media. The materials reached more than 9.3 million recipients, while the estimated advertising value equivalent (AVE) of the publications exceeded PLN 4.3 million.
The conference also saw the announcement of the next edition of the programme. Going Global 5.0 will include 13 international business missions. Entrepreneurs will visit, among other places, Vancouver, New York, Miami, Shanghai, Dubai, Taipei, Bangkok, Paris, Bologna, Berlin, Lisbon, London and Toronto. The new edition is expected to support 157 Lower Silesian entrepreneurs.
“We want to actively support our economy and remove barriers to its development. We will return to markets where we are already present, but we will also open up to new destinations. We will also simplify the recruitment procedures so that entrepreneurs can focus primarily on doing business,” announced Marshal Paweł Gancarz.
The Going Global programme is the longest-running economic project of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship local government. For nearly nine years, it has supported the internationalisation of regional businesses and their presence in global markets. The implementation of subsequent editions is possible thanks to funding from the European Regional Development Fund under the European Funds for Lower Silesia 2021–2027 programme, as well as funds from the voivodeship local government.
