On the first day the tightened road traffic regulations came into force, officers of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec recorded cases of serious speeding. Headquarters:

Under the new regulations, drivers exceeding the speed limit by more than 50 km/h outside a built-up area may lose their driving licences.

On 3 March, in the morning, a traffic police patrol stopped a passenger vehicle on national road DK 94. The driver was speeding at 147 km/h where the limit was 90 km/h. Several hours later, after 4:00 p.m., in another part of the district, a motorcyclist was also stopped on a national road; he was travelling at 144 km/h where the limit was 90 km/h.

Both drivers are residents of Bolesławiec County and lost their driving licences for three months. They were also fined PLN 1,500 and received 13 penalty points.
