On the application of the District Prosecutor in Lwówek Śląski, the court ordered three months of pre-trial detention for a 35-year-old resident of Lubomierz. – The man is suspected of domestic violence against his cohabiting partner, insulting officers from the Police Station in Gryfów Śląski and violating their bodily integrity during an intervention undertaken against him – lists Ewa Węglarowicz-Makowska. – He is also accused of violating a neighbour’s home privacy and violating the neighbour’s bodily integrity.

It was established that on 24 December 2024, the man left prison, where he had been serving a sentence for abusing his partner. The spokesperson said: – From April 2025, he began using violence against her again.

On 17 February 2026, during another argument he initiated, he called the victim abusive names, humiliated her, tugged at her clothing, struck her on the head with his hands and kicked her in the torso. The woman managed to escape from her attacker to a neighbour.

The suspect ran after her, broke into the premises where the victim was staying and, despite the apartment owner’s demand, refused to leave. The prosecutor said:

At that time, he pushed the victim and struck him on the head with his hands, intending in this way to overcome his resistance and forcibly take his partner home.

Police officers were called to the scene. When he saw them, the man began insulting the police officers, and also pushed them, struck them with his hands, spat at them and tugged at their uniforms.

The perpetrator was detained and brought to the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, where he was charged. (He committed these acts while in recidivism).

At that point, the prosecutor applied non-custodial preventive measures: police supervision, a ban on contacting the victims and approaching them within less than 100 metres. He was also ordered to leave the apartment he occupied jointly with his partner.

However, just four days later, on 23 February 2026, the suspect deceitfully lured his cohabiting partner to the vicinity of one of the shops, where he again beat her without cause on the head and torso. As a result, she suffered bodily injuries causing a health disorder lasting less than seven days.

The perpetrator was detained again. This time, at the prosecutor’s request, the Court ordered his pre-trial detention.

The man did not admit to the charges against him. He refused to provide explanations.

The alleged offences carry a penalty of up to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
