Firefighters from OSP Nowogrodziec – Osiedle:
🚨Emergency callout🚨
At 6:30 p.m., we set out to a grass fire 🔥 in Nowogrodziec, on Słowackiego Street. At the scene, we found a fire involving 5 ares of grass and a rotten tree. One water jet 💧 was deployed. The tree was cut down with a petrol-powered saw to extinguish the inside of the trunk.
Unfortunately, this is not the first incident of this type in our county recently. As reported by the Association of Volunteer Fire Services of the Republic of Poland:
🔥🚒 STOP GRASS FIRES! 🚒🔥
After winter, grass and uncultivated land are dry, and one spark is enough to start a fire 🌾🔥
In some provinces of Poland, the first grass fires have already appeared, bringing with them a real threat to people, animals and property.
Firefighters say:
⚠️ Burning grass is illegal and extremely dangerous.
Fire can very easily get out of control – threatening forests, buildings, animals and, above all, people.
🚫 Do not burn grass.
🚫 Do not set fire to branches or plant remains in open spaces.
🚫 Do not leave cigarette butts on dry ground.
They add:
Every such fire poses a real threat to life and health and unnecessarily engages rescue forces that may be needed elsewhere at that time.
🌍 Let us care for the environment and the safety we all share.
