Update: February 24, 2026
MZK Bolesławiec:
(...) we inform you that the installation of bus-stop infrastructure at the Gdańska loop was planned, but very poor weather conditions caused its implementation to be postponed. Once the weather improves, appropriate measures will be taken immediately to relocate the shelter and install lighting.
Yesterday, we reported that at almost the same time we received two reports concerning the new “Gdańska-loop” bus stop. Reader:
There is not even a shelter where you could take refuge from the rain or wind. It is dark there; there are no lamps at all. If someone gets hit in the head, they will not know whom to “thank.” It is unpleasant and uncomfortable there.
Reader:
Not only have they made access to the cemetery more difficult, but now you have to go downstairs. There is no lighting and no shelter. In the morning, you stand in the dark: there are no lights or pedestrian crossings.
We reported on the new location of the bus stop at the end of last year in the article Changes to public transport spark controversy. MZK Bolesławiec comments. At the time, the company explained the decision as follows:
The need to relocate the bus loop was dictated by safety considerations, due to very significant difficulties with stopping and parking buses in the vicinity of the current bus-stop location. The decision to discontinue route no. 12 was made in connection with optimizing the public transport network, based on previously conducted passenger-flow studies covering the entire network. From January 2, 2026, access to the Gdańska loop will be provided by buses on routes no. “0,” no. “1” and no. “11”.
We asked MZK whether the said bus stop would be safer. We will publish the response as soon as we receive it.
