The young vocalists performed on Monday, June 20, at the Galeria Zdolnych venue of Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury. During the concert, the audience listened to 25 songs. Participants in the vocal studio classes presented songs from the repertoires of, among others, Jonasza Kofty (“Vacation with a Blonde” and “Her Portrait” – here in the version “His Portrait”), Maleńczuk & Waglewski (“Colleagues”), Seweryn Krajewski (“She Wanted It Herself”), Frank Sinatra (“My Way”), Krzysztof “KASA” Kasowski (“Maczo”) and Kabaret Starszych Panów (“Children Get Bored When It Rains”).

Several vocalists made their stage debuts that evening. For some participants in the vocal studio classes, however, it was their farewell performance representing Młodzieżowy Dom Kultury. Together with Marek Łętowski, head of the institution, the young vocalists officially said goodbye to this year’s high-school graduates: Celina Lampart, Roksana Walczak and Remigiusz Dereszyński, as well as Aleksander Ulatowski, who plans to continue his studies in Wrocław.

“It is a tradition that we do not grade students in the workshops. We do not force anyone to do anything. Our students have the opportunity to test their skills during concerts. What is more, through their performances, the young people at our institution have contact with live music. Taken together, all of this creates incredible, positive energy,” says Marek Łętowski. “These young people are constantly close to music. They are maturing musically. They sing because they want to sing. And contact with people who are eager to do something is a fantastic thing.”
