Traffic police from Bolesławiec, while patrolling the Nowogrodziec municipality, wanted to check the driver of a passenger car. Police:

Despite the flashing and audible signals, the man did not stop; on the contrary, he attempted to flee.

The driver tried to lose the patrol, but without success. The officers: – The chase ended in the yard of the 37-year-old, where he ultimately drove in himself, seeing that he would not avoid the check. Even after stopping the vehicle, he tried to obstruct the officers’ intervention by preventing them from opening the car doors, but he was eventually arrested.

Why did he flee?

As it turned out, the fleeing driver was completely drunk. A breathalyzer test showed more than 3‰ of alcohol in his system. What is more, officers found empty alcohol bottles in front of the driver’s seat.

The 37-year-old will now be held accountable for failing to stop for a roadside check and driving while intoxicated. He faces up to five years in prison, a long-term loss of his driving licence and financial penalties.
