As the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters informed today:
The 56-year-old appeared before the court under expedited proceedings and heard the verdict for the offence he had committed.
On Monday, 16 February, at around 8:00 a.m., Road Transport Inspection officers stopped a vehicle combination belonging to an Estonian carrier for a routine inspection. (The incident occurred at the 20th kilometre of the A4 motorway, in the direction of the border crossing at Jędrzychowice.)
The inspectors detected a distinct smell of alcohol from the driver, an Estonian citizen. Road Transport Inspection:
A preliminary breathalyser test indicated that the man might be intoxicated. The duty officer at the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters was notified and sent a patrol to the scene.
Inspectors: – A test conducted by police officers showed 0.24 mg/l of alcohol in the exhaled air, corresponding to 0.48 per mille. The driver was detained at the court’s disposal. The vehicle he had been driving was secured and towed to a car park designated by the county head.
The foreigner narrowly avoided being charged with a crime, as the threshold for intoxication is 0.5 per mille. Ultimately, the man will be held liable only for an offence.
