Wiesława Marianna Goryczka was born in Rzerzęczyce near Częstochowa. She graduated from the Teacher Training Secondary School in Radomsko and then from the Teacher Training College in Legnica. From 1978 to 1982, she studied at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznań, in the Department of Art Education, where she obtained her diploma.

She began her teaching career in primary education and later worked in secondary schools. From 1973 to 1983, she worked at the Vocational School Complex in Bolesławiec in the ceramics decoration programme. From 1983, she ran an art studio at the Youth Cultural Centre in Bolesławiec while also teaching advertising at the School Complex of Commerce and Services in Bolesławiec.

In 1977, she received a third-degree award from the Minister of Education and Upbringing. In 1988, she obtained the Second Degree of Professional Specialisation in teaching art. In the same year, she was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit for 20 years of distinguished teaching work.

She works in oil and acrylic, draws and designs interiors. Her works are held in private collections in Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Australia, as well as at ODN centres in Jelenia Góra, Legnica, Radom, Rzeszów and Zielona Góra.

The exhibition “Nature with Imagination” is presented at the Museum of Ceramics, Department of the History of the City, at 14 Kutuzowa Street in Bolesławiec, from 12 April to 8 May.
