As we read today on the fundraiser’s

(…) the tumor had infiltrated the bones of the skull and nose; if it were removed, it would quickly grow back. The operation would have involved removing part of the muzzle and a skin graft, which would have caused wounds in other parts of the dog’s body, with a high risk that the graft would not take. The oncologist diagnosed it as malignant at first glance. (…) Everyone—the surgeon, oncologist, attending physician and the doctor performing the CT scan—unanimously stated that this was the only humane solution: not prolonging the agony and freeing him from pain.

On February 5, we reported that a shocking post had been published on the social media profile Bolec Koty:

A day in the life of a Volunteer… Another report… This time, a doggy in need… It is so cold that my heart breaks thinking of homeless cats freezing on allotments, birds freezing in the trees, and dogs freezing on chains beside collapsing kennels… And what does a dog tied to a car wreck feel??? I don’t even want to think about it…

The volunteer adds:

I read the report in the afternoon and had no way to go there, but I arranged to go today with a friend (February 4—editor’s note, istotne.pl)… We went there today, and the Veterinary Inspectorate was already there. It also turned out that the dog has a kennel. So we went to other places to check how people are caring for their dogs in these frosts. We were shocked in several places… I have no words to describe what we saw and what we felt... those will have to wait until tomorrow…

And she added:

There are priorities… Today, he was the most important...😭😭😭💔💔💔💔 A 10-year-old dog. A very well-behaved sweetheart... Taken away with police assistance because it was impossible to reach an agreement with the pseudo-owner 🤬🤬🤬.

As we managed to establish, the case concerns one of the villages near Bolesławiec. As a volunteer informed us, the case has been reported to the prosecutor’s office. We will certainly return to the subject.

Volunteers:

Help us save this poor dog.
