Due to difficult winter conditions, iced-over catenary and problems starting trains, changes are occurring in rail services on the lines of Lower Silesia, Greater Poland and Lubusz Voivodeship. Disruptions affect the following sections: Rudna Gwizdanów – Głogów, Lubań – Gierałtów, Węgliniec – Bielawa and Wrocław – Leszno.
As PKP PLK reports:
The remaining lines are open to traffic, but trains may be delayed due to earlier interventions and the still-dynamic weather situation. Network trains are operating in areas affected by icing.
It also adds: – Due to weather conditions, the railway infrastructure manager in Germany has introduced changes to train services, which also affects transport services in Poland.
And emphasizes:
Field staff continuously inspect and monitor the condition of railway traffic-control devices, which are adversely affected by freezing precipitation. They have also been reminded of the absolute obligation to immediately forward all reports from train drivers concerning the condition of the infrastructure.
Current information is provided to passengers, where possible, on platforms and among other places on the Passenger Portal (www.portalpasazera.pl). Please follow the announcements.
