As Agnieszka Gergont has just informed us:

(...) on 21 January 2026. Bolesławiec City Office handed over the construction site for the implementation of the investment “Construction of Sokola Street under a design-and-build contract.” Completion deadline: by 30 June 2026.

A reader wrote to us:

I am writing to ask you to take an interest in the matter of Sokola Street, which was supposed to have been completed five years ago, yet so far there has been neither any news nor any visible work. From time to time, they fill the potholes with gravel, and not along the entire street—only a specific section—and after two days there are potholes again.

She added:

There’s no way to drive through because the potholes are so bad. A pothole after a pothole. Will the city repair my car if the suspension breaks or something else happens? Maybe if the mayor lived there, or some other official, the road would probably have been completed (...).

We have written about the condition of this street several times in our pages. Most recently—in November last year.

At that time, we received the following response from Agnieszka Gergont, spokesperson for the Bolesławiec City Office Agnieszka Gergont:

On 24 October this year, an application for permission to build the road on Sokola Street was submitted to the Bolesławiec County Office. Once the Decision has been obtained and become final, work related to the construction of the road will begin.

As we managed to establish, a positive decision in the matter was issued in the second half of December last year. When, then, will work begin? It may be assumed that it will happen when weather conditions allow.

We asked the Bolesławiec municipal authorities about the matter. We will publish the response as soon as we receive it.
