In 2025, the Civil Registry Office in Bolesławiec prepared 522 birth certificates (27 more than the previous year), including 134 registrations concerning children born abroad.
Once again, more boys than girls were born in our city (203 boys and 185 girls). For their daughters, parents most often chose the name Maja. Other popular names for girls included Maria, Anna, Lena, Matylda and Amelia. Among boys, the name most often chosen by parents was Nikodem. Other popular male names included Franciszek, Leon, Antoni and Ignacy.
Last year, 85 birth certificates were prepared for children of foreign nationals, most of them children of Ukrainian citizens—70.
The number of marriages increased slightly. In 2025, the local office prepared 247 certificates (12 more than in 2024), including 50 marriages concluded outside our country. Civil ceremonies were held for 142 couples (including 7 couples who chose an outdoor wedding ceremony), while 55 couples had a church wedding. Traditionally, most wedding ceremonies took place during the summer months, from June to September.
The number of divorces fell, with 107 recorded, including 11 granted abroad (14 fewer than the previous year).
Unfortunately, the number of death certificates issued continues to rise. In 2025, 726 were registered (27 more deaths than in 2024), including 27 people who died outside Poland.
Bolesławiec Civil Registry Office organized 4 ceremonies to present the “Medals for Long Marital Life” to 13 couples.
